Hampshire Gundog Society held our first Retriever Novice trial of this season on 16 September at Hawstead Farm near Hursley. The trial was on duck. Many thanks to the landowner Dan Gradige for allowing us to hold the trial there. He and his team of beaters put on a great day for us. The weather held all day and was bright and sunny.

Our thanks to our judges Jason Mayhew, Chris Marshall, Dave England and Ken Green who used the ground to really test the dogs.

Huge thanks as always to the helpers who gave their time today – Sarah Burnell, Donna Peplow, Chris Davies, Judy Venables and Millie Brotherwood who was designated picker up. Thanks to our Retriever FTS Paula Graystone for her hard work and keeping everyone fed and watered today.

Thank you also to the team of guns who rocked up today and shot very well as they always do.
