HGS held their open stake at Hawkhurst in Kent on 20 December.
The weather was kind and Francis Briley managed to present exceptionally well-timed high birds. Our judges for the trial; Henrik Vilendal, Jason Mayhew, Nathan Laffy and Chris Marshall ran the walked-up trial in the odds and evens format with only one retrieve each in the first two rounds, as a result the 16-dog stake unfortunately held on the shortest was fortunately declared over by 1.30pm and many of the competitors stayed for the awards.

1st place – Tempurong Thrill Of It All, handled, owned and bred by Vanessa King, also subject to KC making up her first home bred bitch to field trial champion.
2nd place – Mendip Fern of Hattoncrest, handled by Olivia Cresswell
Guns Choice – Blackgrass Brora, handled by Leigh Jackson.
